Abstract Volume 1 provides a spreadsheet screening approach for comparing costs of alternative pump-and-treat designs. The purpose of the screening analysis is to quickly determine if significant cost savings might be achieved by modifying an existing or planned pump-and-treat system, and to prioritize subsequent design efforts. The method is demonstrated for three sites. Volume 1 is intended for a very broad audience.
