Abstract |
Institute of Gas Technology (IGT) has been conducting research and development work in high-pressure and high-temperature fluidization and solids transport since the early 1970s. Over this time, researchers have worked with pressures up to 1000 psig and temperatures up to 2000 deg F. The numerous projects include work with coal, iron ore, sand, limestone, woody biomass, and a mixture of coal and a gasification catalyst. This work was instrumental in the development of several gasification processes. To develop these processes, IGT created a fluidization support group that constitutes one of the world's most experienced large-scale fluidization research teams. |
