Abstract A carbon adsorption system was designed and installed on the exhaust outlet from a dryer at an industrial dry cleaning plant utilizing Stoddard solvent for cleaning purposes. Selected design and operating parameters were varied to determine their effect on annualized operating costs and system performance. After optimization, the carbon adsorber achieved a demonstrated efficiency in reducing hydrocarbon emissions of 95 percent.
