Abstract |
The future of saline water conversion in providing high quality water will be limited to the area of water treatment and is not likely to be used as a salinity control procedure for maintaining instream water quality. It will be used to provide water that is sold directly to users that can afford high cost water. Three process categories are described: vapor, liquid, and solid phase separation. Economic considerations are reviewed along with pilot plant applications and commercial uses. A bibliography is included. |
