Abstract Systematically conducted, well documented treatability studies are an important component of remedy evaluation and selection under the Superfund program. This fact sheet focuses on thermal desorption remedy selection treatability studies conducted in support of remedy selection that is conducted prior to the Record of Decision (ROD). This fact sheet presents a brief overview of how to design and implement a thermal desorption remedy screening treatability study. It also discusses the applicability of tiered treatability testing for evaluation of thermal desorption technologies.
