Abstract | This decision document presents the final remedy selected for the North U Drive Well Contamination site in Springfield, Missouri. The EPA, in consultation with the State of Missouri, has determined that it lacks jurisdiction to undertake or require additional response or remedial actions under CERCLA for the petroleum-related releases and the elevated levels of metals in groundwater at the site. Therefore, the final remedy for the site is No Further Action. It should be noted that in 1985, the EPA conducted a removal action at this site. As part of the removal, municipal drinking water lines were extended to provide drinking water users of well which were contaminated. Contaminated wells were then plugged in accordance with state requirements. |
