Abstract | The paper is a brief literature review of the occurrence, distribution, and densities of bacterial indicators in raw and treated sludges. It discusses detection methodology and points out the serious needs for improvement in such methodology. It also briefly addresses the public health significance of numbers reported in the literature vis-a-vis the methods used to detect the organisms. |
