Abstract |
Environmental Statistics 1978 is a book of tables. They contain environmental data, primarily in time series form, chosen to provide an accurate record of important and recent trends in the environment. The publication contains approximately 200 tables organized into twelve chapters dealing with land and land-based activities (population growth and distribution, land use, wetlands, wilderness, parks, historic sites, risk zones, human settlements, transportation, industrial production, solid waste, hazardous substances, cropland, forests, grazing land, wildlife, and energy), water (water resources and water quality), and air (air quality). Environmental Statistics 1978 is not comprehensive in coverage nor do the tables include sufficient detail for regional and local analysis. |
