Abstract |
This study was conducted to investigate the removal of priority pollutants and carbonaceous biochemical oxygen demand (CBOD) by advanced wastewater treatment (AWT) plants. Primary emphasis was placed on the removals accomplished by the tertiary filters. Sampling sites were selected based on three criteria: the plant must accomplish nitrification; the plant must have properly operating sand or multimedia filters; and there must be a significant industrial contribution to the total plant loading. |
