Abstract | The document is concerned with methods of utilizing the waste heat from a proposed nuclear generating facility in an industrial-municipal complex. Several products and processes are proposed including marine pharmaceuticals, chemical production, municipal waste processes, food production and processing, and residential-recreational uses. Sewage treatment is discussed as the most promising use of the heat. This non-seasonal process can provide a solution to two regional problems: augmentation of municipal water supplies, and elimination of a major source of water pollution. |
