Abstract | Studies by the Federal Government have shown that approximately one-fourth of industrial wastes are treated jointly with municipal wastes. To learn something of the charges made to industries in New York State a survey of sewer rates and ordinances in use by cities in New York State, excluding New York City, was made. The pre-engineering of industrial wastes was given special attention, and certain changes in the ordinances and rate structures are suggested which will make one phase of pre-engineering, the equalization of flows, a mandatory feature. |
