Abstract |
The literature search on the chemistry and environmental behavior of trace elements in coal cleaning wastes has been completed. An interpretive report of the findings from the literature will be completed during the third quarter. Techniques and methods for analyzing trace elements and minerals in coals and coal cleaning wastes have been developed and are documented in this report. Standard coal and ash samples were used to establish the precision and accuracy of these methods. Waste materials have been collected from three coal cleaning plants in the Illinois basin.
