Abstract |
The report describes the potential reduction of dissolved oxygen in ponds and streams due to chlorophyll inhibition resulting from certain industrial wastes. Emphasis is placed on the laboratory techniques developed for this study and the changes that should be incorporated in waste stabilization pond designs. The relative toxicity of 33 phenolic-type compounds and 8 pesticides to Chlorella pyrenoidosa was evaluated. (Author Modified Abstract) |
