Abstract | The paper summarizes findings of a 10-week pilot plant study of gray iron foundry wastewater treatment. Treatment technologies studied included lime softening, lime/soda ash softening, polymer addition, flocculation/sedimentation, and dual media filtration. Results indicate that clarification with lime and polymer, followed by dual media filtration, provides effective treatment for discharge or potential reuse. Full scale costs and space requirements are included. |
