Abstract | The report contains the findings of the Public Health Service investigation, including an evaluation of water supply and pollution abatement benefits that could accrue to proposed reservoirs on Marsh Fork and Clear Fork, tributaries to the Coal River. There are three principal types of pollution indicated in the Coal River Basin. They are: (1) coal fines from coal washeries, (2) domestic sewage from sewered communities, and (3) domestic waste and garbage discharged in an uncontrolled manner along the banks of the streams. |
