Abstract |
It is the purpose of this paper to discuss industrial waste and water quality research that is needed to clarify the objectives for stream pollution abatement for the purpose of obtaining better water quality for domestic and industrial use. It is axiomatic that a bad tasting or smelling water is water of poor quality and is not conductive to public health, even though it is bacteriologically safe. The report discusses progress in the reduction of taste and odor producing constituents in surface water. |
