Abstract |
The disposal of metal-bearing sludges from treatment of metal finishing wastewaters is causing increased concern. Implementation of metal precipitation as the best available technology to meet effluent guidelines will increase the amounts of sludge requiring disposal. This report discusses the state-of-the-art of technology which can potentially manage the sludge. Disposal techniques, recycle and waste reduction technology are reviewed. The major advantages and disadvantages of each technique are presented. |
