Abstract | In accordance with a 1984 Record of Decision, PCBs contaminated sediments were dredged from the Waukegan Harbor and treated for removal of the contaminants. Remedial operations were completed in June 1993. Harbor sediments were collected in April 1996 to document the effectiveness of the remedial dredging. Surficial sediment samples were collected at 29 stations (one replicate) within Waukegan Old North Harbor using a petite ponar dredge. Samples were analyzed at IEPA laboratories for parameters in the IEPA inorganic and metals group, parameters in the IEPA organic group and for parameters in the USEPA priority pollutant group. |
