Abstract |
This report was prepared as part of the Ohio River Basin Energy Study (ORBES), a multidisciplinary policy research program supported by the Environmental Protection Agency. It presents energy consumption data for the year 1975 for the states of Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia, as well as for the United States as a whole. The entire state of Kentucky and substantial portions of the five other states comprise the ORBES region. Energy use is examined both by consuming sector and by fuel source. The principal components of each sector are described briefly, and detailed comparisons are made among national, six-state, and individual state consumption patterns for 1975. Preliminary estimates are given for total energy consumption in the United States, the six states, and individual states for the years 1976, 1977, and 1978. |
