An important part of a public awareness program is recycling education in the schools. Not only are children a significant percentage of the general population, but they are also integral household members who contribute substantially to the daily output of solid waste materials. Furthermore, they are formidable consumers who make choices about the products they buy and use, and as such need information to make the kinds of choices that are most appropriate for recycling.
