Abstract | The literature search on the chemistry of trace elements in coal cleaning wastes is underway. Negotiations have been started with one coal company, and contact has been made with a second, regarding the procurement of cleaning wastes and residues. Instruments for trace elements analyses are being calibrated with NBS and ISGS standard coal and ash samples. The only problem encountered this quarter was a reluctance on the part of one of the coal companies contacted to deal with an organization (LASL) directly funded by EPA. In general, the project is progressing according to schedule. (ERA citation 02:008976) |
