Abstract | The report reviews current understanding of man-made causes of changes in stratospheric ozone including releases of chloroflurocarbons (CFCs), nitrous oxide, nitrogen oxides, methane, carbon dioxide, and other trace gases. Results of up-to-date models are prescuted. The report also reviews current understanding of the biological consequences of changes in stratospheric ozone, focusing on effects of increased exposure to solar ultraviolet-B radiation that would accompany decreases in ozone. |
