Abstract | Based on published water quality requirements and data collected during this study, only 2 of the 12 lakes studied have water quality suitable as a source for public water supply. Three are suitable for irrigation and all 12 are suitable for livestock watering. However, the quality of water from these impoundments is treatable and often comparable to the quality of alternative water sources. Each lake should be evaluated more closely in terms of yield, quality, and the economics of development as compared with other available water resources. |
