Abstract | The epidemiological studies (published and unpublished) which comprise the sum total of epidemiological work on the subject of trihalomethanes in drinking water, were reviewed by the subcommittee. The subcommittee summarized the various studies, made a critical assessment, pointed out where it believes the evidence is deficient, and discussed the potential for further research on this subject. The probabilities of false associations when many comparisons are made were also considered when final conclusions were made. |
