Abstract | This Record of Decision (ROD) presents the remedial action selected for Castle AFB, Operable Unit No. 2 (OU-2), in Merced County, California. OU-2 is defined as the contaminated ground water under the area on Base referred to as Discharge Area No. 4 (DA-4) and the contiguous area off-Base where contamination from Castle AFB has migrated, in the vicinity of Wallace Road, including all ground water along the interim OU-1/OU-2 boundary in Figure 1, which is not remediated by interim OU-1. The OU-2 system will be designed to remediate degraded ground water that is not laterally covered by the interim OU-1 system. |
