Abstract |
The Second Gulf Breeze Symposium sponsored by EPA's Center for Marine and Estuarine Disease Research focused on scientific research related to dolphin mortalities. During the symposium, four groups were formed to discuss and evaluate current scientific information, research strategies and research needs related to deaths of bottlenose dolphins Tursiops truncatus. The four study groups addressed research questions related to (1) pathology and disease, (2) pollution analyses and biomarkers of exposure, (3) physiology and biomarkers of effects and (4) stranding and sampling logistics for bottlenose dolphins. |
Notes |
Jointly prepared by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's National Marine Fisheries Service, Office of Protected Resources; and the EPA's Office of Research and Development. "November 1993." Contains the responses and recommendations of four study groups at the Second Gulf Breeze Symposium, co-sponsored by the Center for Marine and Estuarine Disease Research and the National Marine Fisheries Service. |
