Abstract |
The Environmental Fate Database (EFDB) is a data bank containing data or pointers to data on physical/chemical properties and environmental fate of several thousand chemicals. EFDB consists of 6 interrelated files: CASLST is a listing of CAS Registry Numbers, molecular formulae, and names for chemicals included in the other tapes (except for XREF). DATALOG provides a pointer to various data reported in the open literature pertaining to environmental fate of chemicals. BIOLOG provides a pointer to data on microbial degradation or toxicity reported in the open literature pertaining to particular chemicals. CHEMFATE is a file containing actual literature-derived data pertinent to the environmental fate of more than 500 chemicals, from a diverse group of chemical classes. BIODEG is an experimental value file, like CHEMFATE. It contains, for each of several hundred chemicals, (1) summaries of all available mixed culture biodegradation studies; (2) summary judgements of biodegradability based on the literature; and (3) judgments of the reliability of the summary biodegradability codes. XREF provides complete citations for the journal articles referenced in the other tapes. |
