Abstract |
The annual report outlines the Underground Injection Control (UIC) Program's accomplishments including EPA oversight activities, data management, regulation of the UIC universe, development of a comprehensive UIC enforcement program, and program enhancement. The regulations define five classes of wells: injection of municipal or industrial waste (including hazardous waste) below the deepest USDW; injection related to oil and gas production; injection for mineral recovery; injection of hazardous or radioactive waste into or above a USDW; and all injection practices not included in the other four groups. |
