Abstract |
This research effort was conducted to provide an in-depth examination of the costs associated with the use of activated carbon, ozonation, aeration, and chlorine dioxide for removal of trihalomethanes. The costs presented in this report are intended for the development of planning estimates only and not for the preparation of bid documents or detailed cost estimates. Exact capital and operating costs are highly variable from location to location within the United States, even for plants of the same size and design. These costs are presented in such a way as to enable the planner to make adjustments to the reported costs when local information is available. Standardized levels for a selected set of design parameters are assumed and sensitivity analysis is performed for the majority of the parameters. |
