Abstract |
A study was done to describe the development of a regional water supply system around the City of Dallas, Texas, and to summarize the issues surrounding the regionalization process. Data were gathered from written histories of Dallas, the City of Dallas Water Utilities Department, newspapers, case briefs, testimony from hearings, memos and letters, city ordinances, legislative actions, and interviews with participants. A chronological history is outlined for the water supply development and disputes, but activities are also discussed separately without regard to chronology. No criticism is offered of any of the involved parties. |
