Abstract | The purpose of the workshop was to address in-depth issues relevant to the development of environmental criteria for all radioactive waste. The question of standards for high-level radioactive wastes was also addressed. Three formal topics were discussed: Approaches to Radioactive Waste Management Criteria Development; Risk Considerations of Radioactive Waste Management; and Long-Term Implications of Radioactive Waste Management. The information developed will constitute a major input in development of criteria by EPA. This input will be used, together with technical data, to formulate the criteria for radioactive wastes and specific standards for high level radioactive waste. |
