Abstract |
This report is the second of a series of reports summarizing data collected from the Pamlico and Neuse River estuaries. The purpose of this report is to provide a summary of the continuously monitored water-quality data obtained in the Pamlico River and the Neuse River estuaries. This report covers the period from October 1990 through September 1991, which is the end of the second full water year of data collection. Water-quality data were measured at 15-minute intervals at six sites in the Pamlico River estuary and at five sites in the Neuse River estuary. Measurements include near-surface and near-bottom specific conductance; near-surface water temperature; and near-surface, mid-depth, and near-bottom dissolved-oxygen concentrations and percent saturation. Specific-conductance data were converted to and reported as salinity values. Basic statistics were used to present selected data as box plots, and instantaneous data are summarized as daily mean values in tables and graphs. |
