Abstract | The report describes trends in water and sediment quality, and in the living resources of Chesapeake Bay. The water quality parameters evaluated include nutrients, dissolved oxygen, organic chemical compounds, and heavy metals. The living resources that were assessed include phytoplankton, submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV), benthic organisms (including shellfish), and finfish. Trends in water and sediment quality, and in living resources, including the interrelationships among these factors, were used to characterize the current state of the Bay. |
