Abstract |
This investigation was initiated to study the effects of application of differing rates of manure to land on crops, soil, and runoff water. The study was conducted under field conditions in the sub-humid climate of the Northern Great Plains. Manure application rates included levels from 0 to 180 MT/ha/yr. Manure applied to field plots was incorporated using a chisel plow as soon after application as possible. The test crop grown on the manure treatment plots was corn. One-half of the field plots were instrumented to automatically collect samples of any runoff waters leaving the plots. |
