Abstract |
An on-site evaluation was made of the capabilities of the U.S. Geological Survey Laboratory at Atlanta, Georgia. Particular emphasis was placed on determining their ability to meet the monitoring requirements connected with their contractual efforts with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. This monitoring is a major part of the Environmental Protection Agency's quality assurance program in support of energy-related activities in the eastern United States. Overall, water analyses for parameters related to the broad areas of chemistry, organics and pesticides, and aquatic biology are being conducted by approved sampling/preservation techniques and laboratory methods. Specific reommendations for areas of improvement are given. |
