Abstract |
At the request of the District of Columbia Department of Public Health and with the cooperation of the Maryland State Department of Health and the Virginia Department of Health, the Public Health Service conducted an appraisal of factors relating to air pollution in the Washington Metropolitan Area. This appraisal was undertaken to determine the extent of the existing and potential air pollution problem and control activities, and to develop general recommendations for activities to meet present and future air pollution problems. This report is an analysis of information collected relating to sources of pollutants, indications of pollution levels, and status of local activities in the air pollution field. |
