Abstract |
The report provides a brief summary of the data available on the health effects of exposure to propylene oxide. Emphasis is placed on determining whether there is evidence to suggest that propylene oxide exerts effects on human health under conditions and at concentrations commonly experienced by the general public. Both acute and chronic effects are addressed, including general toxicity, teratogenicity, mutagenicity, and carcinogenicity. To place the health effects discussion in perspective, the report also summarizes air quality aspects of propylene oxide in the United States, including sources, distribution, fate, and concentrations associated with certain point sources. |
