Abstract | The waters of Sawmill Cove, Silver Bay and the contiguous reaches of Eastern Channel had not been sampled by a water quality regulatory agency since 1970. The study reported here was undertaken to determine the present quality of the waste-receiving waters and to determine the improvements, if any, that have occurred in water quality as a result of the installation of a primary treatment system for the removal of settleable solids at the Alaska Lumber and Pulp Company Mill. Data collected included temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, Secchi disk, conductivity, pH and sulfite waste liquor data. |
