Abstract |
A package program for use on the IBM 7090 computer is presented for obtaining a numerical solution of the classical Streeter-Phelps oxygen sag equation. Oxygen deficits are computed for each desired time and plotted as a function of time. In general, no knowledge on the reader's part is assumed with regard to computers or the program presented. Certain terminology having general use will be discussed in order to clarify the presentation; however, the step-by-step instructions should enable engineers and scientists to obtain correct results without a thorough knowledge of computer terminology.
