Abstract | Many worldwide public health problems produced by vector-borne disease remain unsolved, and man's changing life-styles constantly create new problems. In this volume, a general introduction to the problem is followed by an analysis of contemporary public health practices and the use of pesticides for public health purposes in the United States. The report discusses arthropods of public health importance as international problems and considers alternative tactics and strategies to the use of conventional pesticides. Also considered are the consequences in less-developed nations of new public health technologies and the more intensive agricultural technologies. |
