Abstract | The report gives results of a 2-year field investigation of air-pollutant emissions from 33 residential heating units and 13 commercial boilers. It includes effects of combustion parameters and fuel-oil compositions, as well as measurements of CO, HC, NOx, SO2, particulate, and smoke. Fuels investigated were natural gas and five grades of fuel oil, including a 1%-S residual oil. Fuel characteristics significantly affected emissions, especially particulate and NOx. |
