Abstract |
This decision document serves as United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) concurrence with and adoption of the remedial action decision for the Adams County Quincy Landfills 2 & 3 site. The remedial action addresses two areas of concern--leachate and groundwater. The leachate remedial action addresses the source of the contamination by collecting and treating on-site waste. The function of this action is to control the landfill site as a source of groundwater contamination, to reduce the risks associated with exposure to contaminated materials, and to prevent untreated leachate from running off site. The groundwater remedial action involves long-term monitoring with cleanup levels. |
