Abstract | The work provides a wealth of information on ways to evaluate and test environmental chemicals for their potential impact on human health and on other systems. Areas of discussion include general considerations of risk-benefit analysis, exposure levels, and statistical considerations; human health effects of acute and subchronic toxicity, chronic toxicity, chemical carcinogenesis, effects of reproduction and on behavior; nonhuman biological effects including simulated systems, field studies of populations and ecosystems, and episodic exposures; effects on inanimate systems; and analysis and monitoring. |
