Abstract |
The oringinal request called attention to severe and longstanding flood and water supply problems in the basins of the Cheyenne and Belle Fourche Rivers in the Black Hills area of South Dakota and Wyoming. The primary objective of the study was to examine the long-range needs and potentials of the area and determine whether some further development or management of the natural resource base might serve to reinforce the economy and insure the greater productivity in the public interest. The scope of the study was to include all natural resources, particularly the land, water, agriculture, minerals, timber, recreation, and fish and wildlife. |
