Abstract | This report presents a set of new transportation energy conservation policy initiatives. From an energy efficiency viewpoint the efforts to improve the efficiency of automobiles, airplanes and trucks can be most effective. Likewise, shifting passengers from automobiles and airplanes to buses and trains, and shifting freight from aircraft and trucks to trains (and where practical, marine or pipeline modes) will provide the largest energy savings. |
