Abstract | Upon recognition of the fact that occasional peak additions of pollutants to the ambient exposures of the public do occur, work was begun on the preparation of these guides. Primary consideration was given to literature dealing with single or intermittent brief exposures to hydrogen chloride or hydrochloric acid. The guides present threshold levels of exposure and the corresponding responses or effects on: Animals; Man; Vegetation; and Materials. The guide also presents; Short Term Public Limits (STPL's) and Public Emergency Limits (PEL's). Analytical methods for the measurement of hydrogen chloride are also included. (Author) |
