Abstract | The report is an assessment of the state of the art in developing air pollution dose-effect functions and recommendations for improving analytical methods. The pollutants are--total suspended particulates, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, photochemical oxidants, carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, sulfates, nitrates, and fluorides. Physical and biological effects, both chronic and acute, encompass health effects, vegetation and materials damage, aesthetic impairment, and climatic changes. |
