Abstract | This document provides a characterization of many of the existing federal, state, regional, and local programs and organizations that comprise the management structure of the Tampa Bay estuarine region. It includes programs that have the most direct bearing on management and stewardship of the watershed's natural resources. Designed as a reference for the individuals and agencies involved in the Tampa Bay Natioanal Estuary Program (TBNEP), this document identifies these different programs and describes the components and objectives of each. Programs are classified by activity or the resource at which the program is directed. Each program description includes its purpose, legislative authority, description of specific program responsibilities, how it is administered and funded, ties to other agencies and/or programs, and a program contact. |
