Abstract | A laboratory study was conducted to determine the rate and extent of absorption of atmospheric sulfur dioxide by thin films of water solutions. The adsorption by two types of soil also was measured. Solutions of albumin, fibrinogen, globulin, and hemoglobin were prepared and exposed to atmospheric sulfur dioxide. Effects of pH, soil moisture, and HCO3(-) concentration are discussed. |
