Abstract |
Facilities which manage hazardous wastes are required to obtain permits under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) of 1976. The guidance document informs RCRA permit writers and enforcement officials of procedures to be used in conducting RCRA Facility Assessments. The RCRA corrective action program was established to investigate and require clean up of releases of hazardous wastes or constituents to the environment at facilities subject to RCRA permits. Releases to ground water, surface water, air, soil, and subsurface strata may be addressed. |
